Julia Holter taught foreign languages at the École normale supérieure in Paris and at the University of Washington in Seattle before moving to France, where she teaches at the Western Catholic University (Nantes). She published Le Clair-Obscur extrême-contemporain: Pierre Bergounioux, Pierre Michon, Patrick Modiano et Pascal Quignard (Rodopi-Brill), contributed to the thematic issue of Europe dedicated to Pierre Bergounioux and Cahier de l’Herne dedicated to Pierre Michon. In 2017-2020, on behalf of the team « Multilinguisme-Traduction-Création », she lead the project “Alexandre Pouchkine, de l’écriture plurilingue à la traduction”, a three-year collaboration with The Pushkin House (the Institute of Russian Literature). She co-translated, with Jean-Claude Pinson, contemporary Russian poets Anna Glazova and Vladimir Aristov into French, and currently working on translation of Aesthetic Fragments of Gustav Shpet.
